What we do
Practical support, delivered with dignity
Distance can turn a treatable medical emergency into a life-changing crisis. SWF’s ambulance service connects communities across Skardu and surrounding valleys with clinics and referral hospitals, including journeys along steep mountain roads and through severe winter weather.
The service supports emergency pickup, inter-facility transfer and medically necessary hospital referrals. Trained drivers, reliable vehicles and careful coordination matter equally; contributions help cover fuel, maintenance, oxygen and essential equipment to keep vehicles ready.
We prioritize urgent medical need and safe patient transport. Where families travelling with a patient also require diagnostic support or overnight lodging in Skardu, our team coordinates directly with our Patient Care and Shelter Home programmes.
