Organisational Profile

Saleem Welfare Foundation (SWF)

Compassion in Action. Opportunities for All.

Saleem Welfare Foundation (SWF) is a non-profit organisation based in Sukamaidan, Skardu, working to improve access to healthcare, education and essential support for vulnerable individuals and families across Baltistan, Pakistan.

Guided by the belief that compassion should translate into meaningful action, SWF provides practical assistance to people facing financial hardship, illness and barriers to education. Through its welfare programmes, the Foundation addresses immediate needs while supporting educational development, personal wellbeing and opportunities for a better future.

In Baltistan, everyday hardships are frequently shaped by regional geography. Communities are separated by long distances, winter conditions can restrict routes, and specialized medical or educational facilities are concentrated in major administrative towns like Skardu. A medical referral may require hours of travel, and household financial strain can place educational continuity at risk. Saleem Welfare Foundation was established as a localized response to these connected realities, linking acute relief with long-term opportunities for stability.
